The formula for the deflection of a truss loaded at half-span by a uniform load

A planar statically determinate truss is loaded on the half of the lower belt by a uniform vertical load. The lattice of the truss is triangular. The dependence of the deflection of a truss on the number of panels is derived by induction using special operators of the computer mathematic system Maple. The deflection is found using the Maxwell-Mora formula.
